Mrs. Olson is our 4th Grade teacher.
I am incredibly happy to be a part of PBES teaching fourth grade. It is such an amazing school. This will be my 12th year of teaching, and I still love it! My roots are in the upper-Midwest (IL, WI, and MN), and it is there that I received my college degrees; a BS in music education from the University of Illinois (go Illini!) and a BS in elementary education from Minnesota State University.
Two years ago my family transplanted to Florida. My husband Jason teaches science at Gulf Breeze High School and works with the band. We have two young children – the oldest will be in 5th grade at PBES this year, and his sister will be in 2nd grade. Although I now enjoy the benefits of wearing flip-flops year-round AND visiting a beautiful beach on a whim, I must admit that I still find myself missing a good snowstorm during the winter months!
Academically, I look forward to helping my students become more skillful, confident individuals. We will enjoy the rigors of reading, writing, and arithmetic to be sure, but I also anticipate practice of habits that will enhance learning for a lifetime.
