Easy Ways to Raise Money for Your School — (and you don’t have to sell anything)
- If you are going to shop online, shop at www.schoolpop.com. This will generate cash back to our local PTA. Each time you shop a percentage of your total comes back to our school.
- Drop off your aluminum cans in our recycle bins.
- Bring in your box tops.
- Shop at the Market and Island Style on Pensacola Beach. Save your receipts. Both stores will donate a portion of each month’s receipts to the school.
- Use your Target Visa for all your credit card purchases. Target will donate 1% of all Target purchases and 1/2% of all other purchases to our school. Be sure to list PBES as the school for your donations.
- Make a donation to the school and get your name listed on our donors plaque.
- Shop at Office Depot in Gulf Breeze. Tell them to give PBES credit for your purchases.
From the PBES Parent–Teacher Association…
PBES has an extremely active PTA. We work closely not only with the parents and teachers, but with the administration and the school advisory council. Our focus this year is on helping teachers and students implement technology we have in the school
This year’s projects include Reflections Contents, a Fall Festival, an Art Festival in the Spring, and a landscaping project. PTA funds also are used to pay for all school field trips and to provide teacher supplies. Thank you for your fund raising efforts that provide opportunities to help our teachers help our children.
If you enjoy shopping online, your purchases can benefit our PTA. Go to www.schoolpop.com and select Pensacola Beach Elementary School when you register. After you have completed your shopping, just email your confirmation to cashback@schoolpop.com . We receive as much as 20% of the purchase price from your shopping. The PTA is currently selling Sandpiper school T–shirts for $10, and sweat shirts for $15. Students are encouraged to wear their shirts on Fridays and during field trips. The class with the highest percentage of T–shirts wins the spirit stick for a week. Our fundraising efforts continue throughout the year. Early in the school year we sell Sally Foster Gift Wrap. Thanks to all the families who helped make this a success. We had a sales goal to sell at least $8000 which nets around $4000 for our school. In recent years, we have had sales of $12,700. Other fund raisers include school T–shirt sales and the Fall Festival. The Fall Festival is held in mid–October. It is a fun event for both kids and their families plus it supports our fund raising goals. We usually raise approximately $3000 through this event to support PTA activities. As usual, the festival featured Wally’s famous barbeque, game booths, a moon–walk as well as a Silent Art Auction and great raffle prizes from beach businesses. All parents, teachers, staff, grandparents and community members can join PTA – $5.00 per person. The PTA holds three general meetings each year. All board meetings are open to members. Minutes of past meetings are available online.
Reflections
Each year since 1965 the National PTA has sponsored an opportunity for students to receive recognition for their creative and artistic abilities. Reflections is the annual program where original student work can be submitted in four categories: visual arts, photography, literature and music.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated during the first week in May of each year. The PTA sponsored several activities to show teachers how important they are to our families.
